Alexander Hamilton is an artist craftsman working in Argyll, Scotland.

His is a very different view of the world, informed by many years creating theatrical devices intended to deceive.

There is a dramatic element to his work enhanced by the use of a wide variety of media, frequently combining a diversity of materials.  Leather may be allied with gold leaf, ink with aluminium, flotsam and architectural salvage with acrylic colours.

Whether engaging with the formal constraints of stretched canvas or with the perception of form hidden in unexpected objects, his work is unfettered by conventional expectations and the calendar-art ideal.  Alex’s artwork is thought provoking and challenging, romantic and emotive.
